About Us

MARK IV IVHS, part of the MARK IV Transportation Technologies Group, is a designer and manufacturer of DSRC devices that are widely used by highway, toll, turnpike, tunnel, and bridge authorities to enable intelligent transportation systems such as electronic toll collection and automated weigh station bypass. In fact, MARK IV's predecessor -- Vapor Corporation -pioneered DSRC technology for the earliest electronic weigh station bypass projects in the United States and Canada. Our DSRC technology today employs active and semi-active microwave, short-range, two-way communication capability.

MARK IV has over 16 million transponders for use on vehicles operating in the United States primarily for electronic toll collection. Growth is expected to increase substantially in coming years as the popularity of electronic toll collection, traffic management and commercial vehicle monitoring services expand.

A major example of a system serving many of these users is the E-ZPassSM electronic toll collection system provided by the 22 toll agency members of the Interagency Group (IAG), spread across 11 states.

The IAG's DSRC infrastructure has been deployed on an impressive list of roadway, bridge and tunnel facilities, including the following:

These toll roads and facilities support the framework of the heavily traveled Interstate-95 region , which defines the eastern seaboard surface transportation corridor of the United States. Improved efficiency and reliability result from the widespread use of E-ZPassSM, especially on the many toll facilities in and around New York. It has already produced demonstrable benefits in reduced traffic congestion and pollution on those roadways.
